Upgrading an Add-In

Whenever a fix, improvement, or general modification is done on a RobotStudio Add-In, the developer needs to provide the new version to the Add-In's users in a simple way.

When a newer version of an Add-In has been downloaded and installed, RobotStudio will only load the newest version of said Add-In, as shown in this topic.

Upgrading a RobotStudio Add-In

  1. Download the desired, newer version of the Add-In.

  2. In RobotStudio, navigate to the Add-Ins tab, and select the Install Package button. Navigate and select the downloaded .rspak file.

  3. Once the installation process has been completed, restart RobotStudio. Both the old version and the new one of the Add-In will be installed, nonetheless only the newest Add-In will be loaded.

  1. Once the newest version of the Add-In has been verified to work, it is recommended to remove the old Add-In from the context menu accessed by right-clicking the component.
